Climbing

"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb."
Sir Winston Churchill

  1. Churchill the jester! Here again a good example of his profound humour. Of course he hates any walking (without arm in arm), any climbing, altogether any sportive activities (the shortest quote I know is: “no sports!”). So, please read the quote as follows:

“Every day you have to avoid any dispensable movement. Every step may lead to danger or illness. Yet there will stretch out before you a life of enough sleep, good food and nice friends. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. Blah, blah, blah…. And your reelection will be granted."
