Ah, That's Why!

"I was obliged to be industrious. Whoever is equally industrious will succeed equally well."
Johannes Sebastian Bach

  1. Sometimes ho Skoteinos is as limpid as a mountain lake compared to you, dear cs.

What Bach says might be true. I have very much experience with the lower staffs and panels in restauration and hotels, and I have observed that the marxist theory of education is much truer than one might imagine considering the futile attempts in the kibbuzim and the socialist countries to neutralize hindering social barriers. Among the head waiters there are persons who could be excellent ministers of a government, and among the normal (badly paid) waiters of Italy there are persons with more vivid intelligence and versality (and often even education) than one can find among most medical directors.
But in a country, put in cast like Italy, those examples of perception hardly can arrive to the reception, not to speak of going beyond.
Bach's statement leads also to the question of how can our industriousness be efficiently adressed, especially if everyone tries to draft our sleeve.

Jacob founded even a people through industriousness, and Primo Levi's father asked a tailor to make 4 special inner pockets in his jackets, because he wanted to have always several books with him.

  2. Not limpid? No, my input is rather too simple. I am monologizing and discovering the reason for my flops.

  3. My fault, I hadn't read the title yet, but only the quote.
