Fame

“What is fame? The advantage of being known by people of whom you yourself know nothing, and for whom you care as little.”

  1. I think that is not an advantage but a disadvantage ...

  2. The feedback is important. If I were an artist, I would try to care more for the consense of the audience than that of the critics' caste. But certainly I would consider with attention also the critique of certain personages, especially, if I have to realize that they misunderstood me. Misunderstanding is always couching, and one has to try to be clear. Sometimes however I wonder if there are people who have success even because they get misunderstood.

Anyway, it is easy to speak on how one would deal with fame, if one does not enjoy fame... The reality is probably very different. At least unless one hasn't a second job as for example Maria Furtwängler or Enzo Janacci, who is a great performer of his own songs, but also a cardiologist.

I like Zeffirelli, because he certainly didn´t care about the critics and certainlz has always worked with love for his audience! I think, his Romeo and Juliett is a great, underestimated masterpiece

  3. What is fame? You try hard to get popular and known by everybody, but when you have succeeded you are going to hide behind large walls wearing dark sunglasses.
