For an author to write as he speaks is just as reprehensible as the opposite fault, to speak as he writes; for this gives a pedantic effect to what he says, and at the same time makes him hardly intelligible.
I've never heard anyone speak as he would write. Does this happen often?
On the other hand, web content coaches ask you to write as you speak. They say, it sounds more personal and passionate.
From my personal experience I can testify to a more or less aggressive audience reaction when I sing in the same way as I notate my tunes. This, however, is mainly due to the quality (or lack thereof) of my singing.
